Doug organises a reunion for his high school football team, but he becomes angry when he learns his teammate, Tom, who is in a wheelchair, is being lauded for his championship winning block.

After the Palmers' separation, Doug and Carrie take Kelly to the movies. There, Carrie discovers her co-worker is keen on Kelly.

Doug and Carrie must hire an exterminator when their sheets become infested with bugs. Meanwhile, Spence and Danny fail to see eye-to-eye over plans for a vacation.

Carrie feels disappointed after her colleague receives flowers, which she initially thought were intended for her. Doug attempts to show his romantic side, while Arthur gets called up for jury duty.

Doug doesn't undergo an exam that could have meant a promotion, and takes a job as a bartender in response to Carrie's being upset.

Deacon's son, Major, is left traumatised after Doug reads him a scary bedtime story. Doug does his best to win the boy's love back.
