Jamal fears that his country is slipping from his control and holds out hope for a military victory. Barry's rescue attempt has unforeseen consequences, and Amira and Rami discuss Jamal's unpredictable behaviour.

Barry comes to the realisation that his survival requires the palace's support, as Jamal grows doubtful of Rami's loyalty. Sammy makes plans to donate his money to the Army of the Caliphate's opponents.

Jamal now sets his sights on the East, to make Abbudin a global power. Barry continues to be a thorn in Jamal's side, becoming a symbol of freedom for the increasingly vocal insurgency.

Barry makes preparations for a crucial mission. Jamal's actions have extensive consequences, and Leila fears that he is unable to see them through his delusions.
