It's the dead of winter, and Easy Company find themselves in the Belgian forest attempting to fend-off frostbite, hunger and battle fatigue.

Having thwarted the Germans at Bastogne, an exhausted Easy Company must now take the nearby town of Foy from the enemy. Several are killed and wounded in fierce shelling, compounded by the incompetence of their commander, Lt Dike.

Easy Company arrives in the Alsace town of Haguenau, and is ordered to send a patrol across the river to take enemy prisoners. Lt Jones, eager for combat experience, volunteers to lead.
