Karl is sent to China to see the Great Wall. The lack of English spoken in Beijing displeases him as does the pollution. He samples local cuisine and is tasked with travelling the length of the Wall.

Karl is unimpressed by the Taj Mahal's location. He takes part in a religious festival where he is caked in coloured powder. He tries his hand at yoga and bathes in the Ganges, meeting religious babas along the way.

On his way to Petra, Karl is kidnapped in Israel. He meets a group who compulsively dance. Floating in the Dead Sea goes well for a while. A long camel ride leads to a Bedouin encampment.

The festivities over Easter turn riotous. On his search to find jumping beans, Karl trains as a wrestler and meets some descendants of Mayans. He gets caught up in the spirit of the Mexicans around him.

Karl gets caught up in a busy marketplace in Cairo and practises bartering. He jumps on a camel to head to the pyramids but his view is hampered the first time, necessitating a second visit.

On his way to Christ the Redeemer, Karl is stressed out by Carnival. The accommodation in a hostel is too much for Karl. He visits a gay beach and a nude beach, then takes a ride in a helicopter.
