Following the death of his mother from a heroin overdose, teenager Joshua Cody heads to southern California to live with his estranged grandmother. There, he discovers the criminal underworld his family belongs to.
While the Codys are dealing with the consequences of a heist, Smurf has her boys tie up loose ends. The rivalry between Baz and Pope grows in intensity, and J finds himself caught in the middle.
While Craig recovers from a wound, Deran and J are convinced by a persuasive Pope to carry out a job without Smurf's knoweldge. Old associates from Mexico reacquaint themselves with Baz and Craig.
With preparations for Pope's birthday ramping up, Smurf checks in with the boys to confirm that they are playing by her rules. J begins to learn about the estrangement of his mother from the family.
Desperate times call for desperate measures from Pope, after Deran refuses to come home. Baz finds himself with an idea for the Codys' next job, while Smurf faces up to her past.
Pope tests positive for drugs, forcing Smurf to attempt to keep the family together. Part of Baz's plan involves convincing his brothers to rob a house, and J faces a moral dilemma.
