Brothers in law, Greg and Karl have decided to journey across the Western Cape in pursuit of the best craft beer South Africa has to offer. In this episode, the guys stop at some local breweries; cook some amazing food and get “Thirsty” (Greg’s trusty Land Rover) ready for the road trip of a lifetime.

Greg and Karl are ready to start their road trip for the best craft beer in South Africa. In this episode the guys are given a master class in brewing from a 35-year beer veteran, visit the first microbrewery of South Africa and cook delicious oysters on the sea. This is a beer history lesson like you’ve never seen before.

Greg and Karl travel up the west coast; they learn about contract breweries and have a legendary seafood braai for the volunteers of SANCOB – after all, Braai is about good food and good people. It’s no easy task pairing up delicious seafood with exquisite craft beer, but our boys seem to be up for the challenge.

Heritage. That’s the theme of this episode of Beer Country. Greg and Karl go to the Spice Route and learn about the German heritage behind the CBC brewery. Then they move down the road to Wild Clover to celebrate National Braai day the only way they know how, with good food, good people and of course; great beer.

The adventure continues on this episode of Beer Country, but this time the guys have been offered a dream opportunity to craft their very own beer. So they head down to the southern most tip of Africa to seek out the best advice and ingredients South Africa has to offer, for their masterpiece. Of course, this hasn’t distracted them from their usual plan of throwing mouthwatering slabs of meat on the braai and enjoying ice-cold craft beer. They even happen to break their unlucky fishing streak (well,sort of).

The adventure concludes in this final episode and what better place to finish off this epic journey than “the heart of South Africa”, the Karoo. Greg and Karl manage to find the final ingredient for their own brew and with the help of the guys from the craft beer project, begin brewing their very own craft beer. And naturally, they couldn’t end off this journey without another braai with good people, good food and great beer.
