The year 1845 is a happy time for Victoria, Albert and their family. The queen adds 200 rooms to the palace, including the iconic balcony. However, tragedy strikes in 1861 with the death of Prince Albert.

Buckingham Palace witnesses the triumphant and tragic final days of the Victorian era. A new king breathes fresh life into the palace in the Edwardian era.

Surviving War
King George V arrives on the throne and the House of Windsor is born. However, life at Buckingham Palace is blown apart by the start of WWI. In 1931, they receive a VIP visit from Gandhi.

Into The Future
Buckingham Palace survives WWII and arrives in the modern era as Queen Elizabeth II makes it her home.
