Makoto Naegi gets a lucky break and enters the highly prestigious school, Hope's Peak High School. But things soon take a turn for the worse.

Sayaka is afraid someone is after her, Makoto agrees to switch rooms with her to ease her fears. The next day however, tragedy has struck.

The classroom trial begins as the students put forward their theories. Monokuma has put high stakes on the students finding the correct killer.

The pool and locker rooms on the second floor have opened up and Monokuma allows the students a few days to explore. They are given 24 hours to kill someone, or he'll broadcast their most sinister or embarrassing secrets.

Togami insists that the perpetrator must be a depraved serial killer, but his motives are questionable. Tensions begin to rise, as some of the students darkest secrets are revealed.

Asahina discovers ALTER EGO, an AI created by Fujisaki. Both Ishimaru and Yamada are taken with the program, but neither boy is keen to share.
