Lex Luthor discovers Amazo, a sentient but naive android who can copy super powers, and manipulates him into fighting the Justice League; J'onn struggles with a crisis of conscience when he telepathically observes the selfish thoughts of humanity.

Having copied the powers of five Leaguers -- including Superman -- Amazo becomes a force to be reckoned with, but he begins to question Luthor's authority; J'onn finds a reason to believe in humanity when he helps rescuers locate a missing girl.

After being diagnosed with an incurable case of kryptonite poisoning, Lex Luthor blames Superman and seeks to destroy the superhero and the rest of the Justice League by gathering a team of powerful supervillains.

Captured by Luthor's Injustice Gang, Batman must find a way to contact the League; Shade, Star Sapphire and Solomon Grundy plant a bomb on the Watchtower; Luthor's condition worsens while Joker goes behind his back to eliminate Batman.

The Justice Lords, an alternate version of the Justice League, eliminate crime from their world through intimidation, but when Batman discovers a pathway to a parallel Earth, they decide to spread their brand of harsh justice across dimensions.

The League escapes from the Justice Lords' holding cells and heads to Arkham to rescue Hawkgirl; Batman appeals to his alternate self to turn against the other Lords; the League crosses dimensions back to their Earth to retake control from the Lords.
