As Gang Mo, having won the Oscar of the business world, steps onto the red carpet with his secretary So Tae, flashbulbs light among the press. Cho Pil Yeon, broken out of a mental institution and into Gang Mo's penthouse, holds a gun to Gang Mo's head.

Jung Yeon, who by chance stays in the same room as Gyung Ok, is unable to recognize her mother. Sung Mo, who has become unconscious and moved to the U.S. 8th Army headquarters, behaves as an amnesiac patient and worries about Gang Mo and Mi Joo.

Young Gang Mo and Mi Joo, who have lost their mother to briquet gas poisoning, promise to meet their older brother Sung Mo in front of the the 31 Building, the highest in Seoul. They board a truck going to Seoul, but the truck driver flees with their bag.

Gang Mo and Mi Joo wait in front of the 31 Building, hoping to meet their older brother as snow falls. Meanwhile, Sung Mo lies unconscious in the U.S. 8th Army hospital ward. Mi Joo mistakes a passerby for Sung Mo from inside a bread shop and follows the man.

Hwang Tae Seob, covered with landfill, is saved from being buried under a landslide by Gang Mo. Hong Ki Pyo, who heard news of the landfill being swept away, smiles with satisfaction and orders the promissory notes issued by Hwang Tae Seob to be collected.

Hwang Tae Seob appears in a disheveled state and sticks out his tongue at Gang Mo, calling him a tough one when he shows him a note with his living expenses written down. Cho Pil Yeon warns Sung Mo he shouldn't give Hampton cause to suspect him.
