Monty Don travels from Wales to Norfolk to learn more about Britain through its gardens. He comes across gardens for gnomes, much loved well-tended allotments and extravagant gardens that bankrupted their owners.

Monty Don explores the most densely populated part of the country. He visits some of London's gardens including a special one on a barge, as well as a beautifully restored garden close to where he grew up in Hampshire.

Monty travels across the south-west of the country to visit some of Britain's most exotic gardens. On this journey, Monty also goes to some of the country's most historic gardens, as well as some challenging contemporary ones.
