Anthony Middleton steps into Captain Bligh's shoes and assumes the mantle of leader of the expedition. He will be joined by eight other men, among whom are a carpenter, a doctor, and several sailors.

Arriviving on a tropical island, the men explore in search of food and water supplies. Pressure begins to weigh on the men as they make preparations for the next part of their journey. Hunger and the difficulty of life on a cramped boat exact a toll.

The final eight men are alone in their small wooden boat preparing to face the most daunting part of their journey. They must traverse all 2600 kilometres of the dangerous Coral Sea.

After two weeks with no sight of land, the remaining men attempt to navigate through the Great Barrier Reef. The vast stretches of coral could rip out the bottom of their tiny wooden boat.

The men face their most desperate challenge yet as they encounter life-threatening dehydration in the blistering heat of northern Australia on their voyage to Timor.
