Russian Beauty

In the 1960s, the Panov family lives in the village of Matykino near Moscow. Mikhail Panov is jealous of his wife for her past actions, a constant reminder of which is his beautiful daughter, Katya, who is completely unlike him.

Becoming increasingly infatuated with Katya, Felix tries to learn as much about her as possible from the medical school she attended. Meanwhile, a friend of Felix's arrives and notices the breakdown of Felix's relationship with his wife.

Katya begins her career as a clothing demonstrator in the Fashion House; Elena Vadimovna presents Panov to Sergey Ivanovich Krutsky's deputy Igor Shnyrev; Katya finds out that she is pregnant and reports this to fashion designer Vienna Krotov.

Katya begins her career with a show at the Fashion House but soon discovers she is pregnant. Katya dreams of having a baby, but Venya advises her to have an abortion in order to pursue her career.

After the success of the fashion show in Paris, Katya is described as the national treasure of Soviet Russia by adoring newspapers; at the cemetery, Katya learns from Goncharov that he is her real father.

Felix accuses his father of executing hundreds of innocent people; Katya learns that she can never have children, and holds Venya responsible for having advised her to have an abortion before travelling to Paris.
