The 1900 Island

Four families head back to the early 20th century for a month, and come face to face with the harsh realities of life in a 1900s small Welsh fishing community.

The fragile sense of community starts to fray as rivalries and hunger take their toll on the adults; Gavin Davies struggles to feed his family.

The men plan an extended fishing trip for three days and two nights, leaving their wives and children home alone; the men struggle to get a catch, while their wives have no way of knowing if they are safe.

There is a last-minute haul of fish and everyone is counting down the days, but modern mechanization causes prices to plummet; the men and women on the island have a rude awakening.
