A woman is discovered brutally murdered and evidence at the scene links the murder to a 20-year-old cold case. Detectives and former flames Molly McGee and Alex O'Connell are reunited to solve the crime.

Devastated by Daisy's death, Molly finds a mysterious symbol that pushes her to track down Freddie. Alex makes a dreadful visit to Jenny McGinty's mother Eileen.

Molly's daughter Lily engages in some risqué online activity, which Freddie uses to take revenge against Molly. Meanwhile, Molly's suspicions about Freddie's involvement in Dorothy's murder deepen.

Freddie puts Lily's life in danger and Molly must race to save her. Constable Freya Harris works on a tip-off that Gareth and Councillor Jacinta Clunes may have some dodgy dealings.

There is a break in the investigation when Marianne Gowdie is discovered to have the same blood disorder as Dorothy Moxley. Alex recalls memories he's suppressed for years after a strange night with Gareth.
