Winter Palace

André Morel and his wife find a building to realise their dream: to open a winter hotel.

After a tragic event, half the hotel staff resigns at the urging of the priest, who fears losing his power over the villagers. André and Rose struggle to keep the hotel running with their demanding guests.

André promises his international clientele that their stay will be free if their demands are not met. This risky offer could lead to the hotel going bankrupt, but it's typical of André's audacity.

A police inspector arrives to investigate a disappearance. Distraught, Isobel confesses to André the horror of her meteoric rise and that she has lost the medallion he gave her. The guests threaten to leave if André doesn't pull out all the stops.

Chef Voclain panics at the arrival of his rival Escoffier. Isobel rejects Raney, who threatens to reveal a secret. The gala descends into festive madness.

Rose suspects she's pregnant. Isobel convinces André to climb the Aiguille d'Or for a worldwide publicity stunt. Caught in an avalanche, they narrowly escape death. Ambition, danger, and emotions intertwine in a disastrous ascent.
