The Aftermath

During the bitter winter of 1946, Rachael Morgan arrives in the ruins of Hamburg and is reunited with her husband Lewis, a British colonel overseeing the city's reconstruction. But Rachael is shocked to find that her new home, a grand old house, will be shared with its previous owners: a German widower and his daughter. With the war only just over, the atmosphere is charged with anger and grief that give way to passion and betrayal.
