It is August 15th, and just like every year, Paul and his friends have a big picnic on Callot Island. The family camcorder captures memories of the summer, the children playing, and the simplicity of the exchanges between all. But this year, the family finds themselves trapped on the island due to the high tide. The usual tranquil atmosphere shatters as everyone disagrees over what to do. Bruno wants to cross straight away, while the others think he's being dramatic, and Paul panics because he can't swim. Tensions arise. With the car abandoned at sea, they must all spend the night on the island. The adults try to make light of the event and turn it into an adventure for the children, but instead, they fight over who is responsible. Meanwhile, upset and caught between childhood and adulthood, Paul becomes aware of his individuality as he drowns in his imagination.
