Cliff Lyons

Cliff Lyons was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Lyons's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Firebrand Jordan" (1930), "Canyon Hawks" (1930) and "Night Rider" (1932) with Harry Carey. He also appeared in "Outlawed Guns" (1935), the western "The Lawless Nineties" (1936) with John Wayne and the Billy Elliott western "Wagon Tracks West" (1943). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties and the fifties, appearing in the western "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" (1949) with John Wayne, "Wagonmaster" (1950) and the western "Bend of the River" (1952) with James Stewart. He also appeared in the John Wayne western adventure "The Searchers" (1956). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Horse Soldiers" (1959), the Jeffrey Hunter mystery "Sergeant Rutledge" (1960) and "Two Rode Together" (1961). Lyons more recently worked on the action flick "The Green Berets" (1968) with John Wayne. Lyons passed away in January 1974 at the age of 73.
