Hiro Kanagawa

Hiro Kanagawa may be best known for his portrayal of an ill-fated high school principal on the superhero TV drama, "Smallville," but his lengthy acting career includes many other memorable performances. His commanding presence often lands him roles as authority figures. He portrayed a hardline fire captain in the Canadian TV series, "Da Vinci's Inquest," played a by-the-book detective on the procedural drama, "Cold Case," and appeared as a rookie cop on the award-winning legal series, "Intelligence." Kanagawa has also lent his voice to numerous animated series. He's voiced several installments of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" anime and video games and from 2006-2007, he portrayed Mr. Fantastic in "Fantastic Four," based on the comic book about a group of scientists who suddenly develop incredible superpowers. He portrayed loyal researcher, Cyrus Xander, on both seasons of the critically acclaimed sci-fi series, "Caprica," a prequel to "Battlestar Galactica" that foreshadowed the downfall of humanity at the hands of artificially intelligent Cylons. Kanagawa appeared in a rare starring role in the award-winning short Japanese film, "Hiro," where he portrayed a shy and awkward insect collector whose obsession draws him into an encounter with a beautiful young woman and the dangerous Yakuza.
