James Michener

James A. Michener worked on a variety of projects during his entertainment career. Michener worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Hawaii" (1966), "Return to Paradise" with Gary Cooper (1953) and "Sayonara" with Marlon Brando (1957). He also contributed to "South Pacific" (1958) starring Rossano Brazzi, "The Bridges at Toko-Ri" (1955) starring William Holden and "Until They Sail" (1957) starring Jean Simmons. In the seventies and the eighties, Michener devoted his time to various credits, such as "The Hawaiians" with Charlton Heston (1970), "James A. Michener's "Dynasty"" (NBC, 1975-76) and "Caravans" (1978). He also worked on "Centennial" (1978-79) and "Kent State" (NBC, 1980-81). Michener was most recently credited in "Rodgers & Hammerstein's "South Pacific"" (ABC, 2000). Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "55th Annual King Orange Jamboree Parade" (1988-89), "Remember Pearl Harbor" (CBS, 1991-92) and "East Wind, West Wind: Pearl Buck, the Woman Who Embraced the World" (PBS, 1992-93). Michener passed away in October 1997 at the age of 90.
