Jin Ha
Making a huge splash in the theater scene almost from day one of his career, Jin Ha is perhaps best known for starring in the landmark Broadway revival of "M. Butterfly." Born in Seoul, South Korea, Ha's family relocated to Hong Kong when he was three. There, the young Ha had the chance to watch American sitcoms. When his family moved to the United States five years later, Ha was given his first chance to act, starring in a middle school production of the "Phantom of the Opera" parody, "Phantom of the Soap Opera." Despite his affinity for performance however, Ha was focused on pursuing a more stable career path, and eventually chose East Asian Languages and Cultures as his major at Columbia University. He traveled back to South Korea to teach kindergarten for a year after earning his bachelor's, and while there, he finally made the realization that his heart was set on acting. Ha returned to the U.S. to earn his MFA in acting at Tisch School for the Arts, and landed a role as an understudy for the Chicago production of "Hamilton" shortly after graduating in 2016. It was at this time that producers for the upcoming "M. Butterfly" revival approached Ha about auditioning. Ha took on the role to tremendous acclaim. In 2018, he costarred in the broadcast TV event "Jesus Christ Superstar Live!" (NBC 2018).
