Lynda Boyd

A seasoned character actor with an extensive list of television, film, stage, and voice credits, Lynda Boyd is best known for her starring role on the Canadian police drama "Republic of Doyle." Boyd, a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, began her career voicing characters for English-language versions of the Japanese anime series "Mezon Ikkoku" and "Project A-Ko." After earning her first live-action roles on primetime powerhouses like "Highlander" and "The X-Files," Boyd was cast as a series regular on the supernatural drama "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven." She continued to be a fixture on Canadian series TV in the 2000s, playing maternal figures on dramas such as "You, Me and the Kids" and "Kaya," as well as a more action-oriented role on the sci-fi series "Sanctuary." In 2010, Boyd earned her most visible TV role as Rose Miller, girlfriend of private investigator Malachy Doyle (Seán McGinley), in the offbeat comedy-drama "Republic of Doyle."
