Shane Harper

Teen star Shane Harper represented the new millennial generation of pop stars and actors, having grown up in a musical household, raised in the worlds of theater and dance, and coming of age on television and movies. Shane Harper was born, in La Jolla, CA. At age 9, he began learning dancing and acting, and became involved in community theater and competitive dance; he became well-trained in ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz and tap dancing. In the spring of 2006, a talent agent on the judging panel of a regional dance competition offered Harper agency representation. This led to minor dancing roles in various shows and movies, including roles as a principal dancer in "High School Musical 2" (Disney 2007) and "Dance Revolution" (CBS 2006-07) before becoming one of the youngest of the six lead dancers on "Dance on Sunset" (Nickelodeon 2008). In 2010, Harper landed a recurring role in the hit TV series, "Good Luck Charlie" (Disney Channel 2010-14), and earned his first film acting role in Indian suspected-terrorist drama "My Name is Khan" (2010). A singer and piano player since early childhood, Harper signed to AMi Records in 2011, releasing the singles "Dance With Me," "One Step Closer," and "Rocketship." His self-titled debut album was released that year and reissued in 2012 in a deluxe edition with bonus tracks. Harper broke through to a more mainstream audience as the lead in the indie Christian drama "God's Not Dead" (2014), playing a Christian college student who tangles philosophically with an atheist professor (Kevin Sorbo); a sleeper hit, the film debuted in the top 5 at the box office in March 2014.
