Mia's return finds Charlie questioning how devoted he is to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Alan tries to write a screenplay and the guys rush a labouring Judith to the hospital.

Alan tries to bond with Jake during a trip of their own to Sacramento to pick up a clock he's inherited.

After seeing Charlie with a lot of females in the space of one day, Alan feels Charlie is unable to control his womanising ways. Charlie goes to see his shrink who makes him realise he's missing the one that got away.

Mia comes back to town with her dance troupe and invites Charlie to her performance. When they meet, Mia explains she wants some of Charlie's sperm to which Charlie responds by asking Mia for something in return.

Charlie returns to his bachelor lifestyle after Alan moves out of the house whilst Alan suffers a breakdown after his divorce from Kandi.

Charlie must make a difficult decision about his future as to which woman he wants to spend his life with, Chelsea or Mia. Meanwhile, Charlie also grows wary that Melissa has slowly moved into the house.
