After Christopher persuades Lorelai to visit Rory at Yale during Parents' Weekend, Lorelai is surprised to find that Richard and Emily are also there.

Rory is planning a baby shower for Lane but then gets an interview with the New York Times. Lorelai plays mediator between Lane and Mrs Kim, who are fighting about how the twins should be raised, and Logan tells Rory about his investment failure.

Rory's plans are thrown into disarray when she is offered her dream job, leaving Lorelei to contemplate life after her little girl moves out.

On the eve of Rory's graduation, Emily and Richard throw her a party and perform a song in her honour. At the party, Lorelai and Christopher are reunited for the first time and are relieved they can be friends. Logan also has a shock for her.

Lorelai wakes up in bed with Christopher the morning after her argument with Luke and faces the reality of her impulsive act and her belief that the engagement is over.

With Rory fretting over her future after graduation, Lorelai decides to cheer her up with a day of pampering, shopping and eating. Lorelai invites Luke to join her and Rory at a karaoke night.
