Condemned man Howard Epps is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection in 32 hours for the murder of 17-year-old April Wright. Epps’ attorney, Amy Morton, makes a last-minute appeal to Booth, the man who arrested Epps, to re-examine the case. Booth believes Epps is guilty, but acknowledges that the case had a few loose ends.

Buffy and Angel have a disastrous first date, while Spike plans to capture Angel in hopes of using him to cure an ailing Drusilla. Meanwhile, Buffy meets the new slayer in town.

Brennan is a juror on the case of professional soccer player Peter Kidman, who is accused of murdering his wife. When she uses pure objectivity to help prove the killer not guilty, his best friend and a key witness in the case turns up dead. The Jeffersonian team must work together to prove that the soccer star was in fact guilty of killing both his wife and his friend.
