As Doggett continues his investigation of Deputy Director Kersh, he attempts to uncover the truth about a woman with superhuman abilities who may or may not be aiding his cause, and is somehow connected to scientific experiments being conducted on World War II-era marine vessel.

When Scully and Doggett are contacted by a man who claims his wife was murdered shortly after giving birth to an alien baby, Scully digs deeper into reports of alien fertilisation on humans and begins to question her own pregnancy and its conception.
