John Wheeler

John Wheeler rose to fame as an actor, gracing the silver screen many times over the course of his Hollywood career. Wheeler began his acting career with roles in such films as "Sweet Charity" (1969) with Shirley MacLaine, the dramatic adaptation "Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here" (1969) with Robert Redford and "Move" (1970) with Elliott Gould. He also appeared in "Support Your Local Gunfighter" (1971) and the crime feature "Big Bad Mama" (1974) with Angie Dickinson. In the eighties, Wheeler devoted his time to various credits, such as "Banzai Runner" with Dean Stockwell (1987). Wheeler continued to exercise his talent in the Tom Hanks and Bill Paxton smash hit "Apollo 13" (1995). Most recently, Wheeler worked on "Dance Academy" (TeenNick, 2011-14). John Wheeler died on February 6, 2026 in Claremont, CA at the age of 95.
