Evan Williams

Alberta native Evan Williams first developed an interest in performing due to a childhood love of music and musical theater. After performing in local and regional theater as a teenager, he moved from the Canadian plains to Toronto, where he attended the prestigious theater school at Ryerson University. His first film credit came in 2006, with a supporting role in the straight-to-DVD effort "Save The Last Dance 2," a sequel to the 2001 romantic drama starring Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas. His first TV credit came the same year, when Williams had a small role in the made-for-TV horror flick "The House Next Door," starring Lara Flynn Boyle and Mark-Paul Gosselaar in a story about a haunted suburban house. His big break came in 2008 when Williams was cast as easygoing Kelly Ashoona in the Canadian teen television institution "Degrassi: The Next Generation." Following his two-season stint on that popular series, he was cast in a key supporting role in the 2010 family holiday film "On Strike For Christmas," as one of the sons of a mother (Daphne Zuniga) who feels unappreciated by her family. In 2010, Williams returned to teen television as the title star of "Baxter," a high school comedy-fantasy series set at a high school for the performing arts.
