Garrett M. Brown

Garrett M. Brown

Cast as "Zelig the actor" in Woody Allen's comedic tour de force, "Zelig," Garrett M. Brown quietly slipped onto the film scene via the lauded director's New York production company. Brown built his resume in Hollywood with another comic turn--this time as Bob Russell, the exasperated upper-middle-class suburbanite, in the John Candy laugh fest "Uncle Buck." He expanded his work into television with a recurring role as John Whitsig, the husband of the down-to-earth Georgie, in "Sisters"--the hit drama that appeared on NBC for six seasons. After several more guest appearances in such critically acclaimed primetime crime series as "Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," Brown took a recurring role as Phillip Evans, the earnest investigator of all things alien, on the popular sci-fi show "Roswell." Growing his TV career in the direction of cable, Brown was later cast as Bishop Devery, the spiritual advisor to polygamist Bill Henrickson, on the groundbreaking HBO series "Big Love." Returning to his home in film comedy, Brown was soon after cast as Mr. Lizewski, the parent of a teen who wishes he were a superhero--and tries to do something about it--in "Kick-Ass."
