Linda Wallem

Linda Wallem is an actress, producer, and writer who created the popular Showtime series "Nurse Jackie." The Midwest native began her career on stage performing a comedy act with creative partner Peter Tolan that was eventually turned into an off-Broadway show in New York City. Her acting and writing careers developed concurrently; she made appearances on shows like "Seinfeld" and the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" (as a waitress each time), while writing for the Cybill Shepherd sitcom "Cybill" in the mid '90s. In addition to extensive writing duties she was also a producer on "Cybill," an award-winning show that lasted four seasons. Subsequently she was writer/producer on the sitcoms "That '70s Show," "That '80s Show," and the self-referential Lisa Kudrow program "The Comeback" in 2005. The comedic drama "Nurse Jackie" debuted in 2009 and was a critical and commercial hit. As an actress, Wallem has also provided voices for the animated series "Rocko's Modern Life," and has been a guest performer on shows she has written for, including "Cybill" and "That '70s Show."
