Martha Kelly
Martha Kelly began her career in standup comedy in the 1990s. She worked in Los Angeles and Austin, TX, during her ascent of the comedy circuit, meeting fellow aspiring comedian Zach Galifianakis in 1998. Over the course of the decade to follow, Kelly earned notice for her deadpan style, landing gigs performing on standup comedy television programs like "Premium Blend" (Comedy Central 1997-2005) and "Last Comic Standing" (NBC 2003-2010, 2014-15), as well as late night talk shows including "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (NBC 1993-2009) and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (CBS 2005-2015). After more than two decades keeping within the margins of the standup realm, Kelly embarked upon her first acting job in the sitcom "Baskets" (FX 2016-), starring Galifianakis. Kelly's character, which was written specifically for her, was a soft-spoken insurance agent named Martha who puts up with Galifianakis' nearly intolerable main character.
