Cha Woo-hyuk, a determined prosecutor, tries to exact revenge on Chairman Tae of the Geosan Group, who brought about downfall to his family. He meets Han Jung-won, the miserable wife of Tae Minho, Chairman Tae's heir.

Minho returns from the crash unscathed, much to the dismay of Han Jung-won, former actress and Minho's wife. Minho makes his ambitions known during a board meeting, and Woo-hyuk is assigned to a murder case.

Woo-hyuk arrests Tae Sooho, Minho's brother, as a suspect and learns of Minho's past in the process. Jung-won spends a pleasant time with Woo-hyuk but accidentally leaves her phone behind in his car.

Sooho's attempted suicide leads to internal investigations by the Prosecutors' Office, and Woo-hyuk is reprimanded by his superiors. Excluded from the case, Woo-hyuk visits Na Young-eun, daughter of a newspaper company owner and Sooho's wife.
