Dead
Dane "Marbles" Marbeck is your garden variety stoner, living day to day with money made from mediating between his customers and the ghosts of their recently dead loved ones using his homemade concoction of neurological medication and weed. Marbles' mother is going to sell the family farm, the only link to happy memories Marbles shared with his late father, so when Officer Jayson Tagg shows up, a wannabe super-cop killed chasing a serial killer, with a lucrative proposition, Marbles accepts. With the help of Yana, Tagg's alcoholic sister on house arrest, the unlikely duo of stoner and ghost cop follows clues to a pumping gay bar, chase a mysterious hooded figure, then run into Marbles' domineering mother who's out on the town in an attempt to get over his father. The night gets more horrifying when they hit a body, and gets worse when that body turns out to be Tagg's, moving on its own as if possessed by a gormless ghoul. Marbles and Tagg chase their lead to the mansion of a well-known perverted talent agent, are almost overpowered by soul-sucking ghouls, then their differences unravel their partnership as Tagg struggles to open up to Marbles about an unrequited love he left back in the land of the living. With time running out until Tagg turns into a soulless ghoul, Marbles unwittingly thrusts himself into the serial killer's grasp. While Marbles faces horrors from his past, Tagg must overcome his personal demons in order to save his newfound friend.
