Kevin Gage

Kevin Gage has built his acting career playing tough guys, both good and bad. He made his acting debut in the Billy Crystal comedy special "Billy Crystal: A Comic's Line" and made guest appearances on television shows before securing the role of a cop in the Tom Hanks comedy "The 'burbs" in 1989. There was a gap in his career at this point, but Gage returned with his strongest role yet in Michael Mann's crime epic "Heat," where he played the villain Waingro, a part he secured after a punishing three month audition period with director Mann. Gage's career took off after "Heat" was released, and he had strong roles in the Demi Moore vehicle "G.I. Jane" and "Blow," starring Johnny Depp, before experiencing legal trouble over cultivating marijuana. Gage spent some time in prison on the marijuana charge; he was said to be a model prisoner, and most of his fellow inmates referred to him by his character name from "Heat," Waingro. After his release, Gage has worked on independent horror and crime films including "Kill Theory" in 2009 and "The Killing Jar" in 2010.
