S1, E2: 2001 saw the new beginning of new chapter for Volkswagen. After getting famous for everyday cars such as the Beetle and Golf, the German car manufacturer wanted to be involved in the production of luxury vehicles, too. The company invested 187 million Euros into its so-called "Transparent Factory" in Dresden to produce its Volkswagen Phaeton, which sets new standards in the upper class.
