Council estate-born Myles Connor goes about his elusive business. Unknown to him, his conscience is not far behind, pricking him at every step of the way. He soon befriends a 15-year-old schoolgirl who grieves the loss of her mother, but the true motive of Myles' attention toward her remains ambiguous.
