Battlegrounds

Anthony Johnson; a young rapper whose mother died of heroin overdose when he was 12 years old; carries an enormous amount of guilt, because he wasn't there to prevent her death. His father, who was a soul singer at the brink of stardom was murdered outside the studio. Without any parents, Anthony feels obligated to protect and support his little sister Cassey and becomes involved in street crimes.
