In the wake of the Civil War, ex-Confederate soldier Ben Lassiter and his 10-year-old daughter, Abbey, are traveling through Nevada when they cross paths with sisters Martha and Beth Drury. Although Martha is embittered because her fiancé was killed by a Confederate during the war, she is forced to trust Ben when a band of Native Americans tries to attack the sisters, and the soldier offers his protection.
