After investigating a string of child abductions and murders in Texas's Rio Grande Valley, Detective Roman Saint is gravely wounded pursuing the killer. During his recovery, Saint becomes consumed by his obsession to apprehend the murderer, battling addiction to prescription pills and alcohol while haunted by the victims' deaths.
