A humble minister and his small-town Southern congregation find the inner strength to lay down arms and rebuild their lives and their town after the devastation of the United States Civil War in Stars in my Crown. 1865. Parson Josiah Dozier Gray (Joel McCrea) settles in the town of Whalesburg with his mission to help the lives and the souls of the Southern frontier town. He marries his church organist, adopts an orphaned boy and starts to build a life with his parishoners. But Parson Gray faces a crisis of faith when a typhoid epidemic strikes the town--and the local doctor accuses Gray of spreading the disease.
