Soon it will be open warfare between the French mill owners, the conniving Catholic Church and the thousands of Quebec starving farmers and workers who have flocked to New England for a better life. La Révolte, Part II of Les Tisserands, continues to criss-cross between the lives of the decadent rich and the poor migrants, but it concentrates on the rebellion of the factory workers and their ally, Dr. Fontaine, against both the mill owners and the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Nearly a century later, the mills will have closed and the assimilation of the Francos will almost be complete.
