Torch Song Trilogy
Outrageous, touching ... and always witty. Harvey Fierstein stars in this adaptation of his Tony Award-winning play about a gay man in New York looking for happily ever after--Torch Song Trilogy. It takes a lot of guts and a hell of a sense of humor to live life in Arnold's (Fierstein) shoes. Earning a living as female impersonator Virginia Hamm, Arnold thinks he's found true love in the arms of schoolteacher Ed (Brian Kerwin), but one day he finds Ed in the arms of a ... woman. Arnold avoids love until he meets Alan (Matthew Broderick), and together the two build a life and adopt a child. But when Arnold dies in an accident, Ed is suddenly left a grieving single parent, with a deep well of emotions that his mother (Anne Bancroft) cannot understand but must come to accept.
