An arson attack takes Max and Miranda to the Mallorcan countryside that has become the unlikely center of a volatile election; when a body is discovered, the detectives must sort through the murky dealings of politicians and eco-activists.

Miranda and Max are punished for a longstanding smuggling bust going south; they are sent undercover in a holiday resort to investigate a series of thefts from guests' rooms; while Max is happy for the getaway, Miranda is offended.

Miranda is forced to finally take some time off, but when a body appears near a mysterious women-only island retreat, Miranda can't help but meddle in Max's investigation by checking into the resort herself.
