Arthur Dupont

At the age of 25, French actor Arthur Dupont received a nomination for Best Newcomer (Male) for his role in "Bus Palladium" (2010), a coming-of-age drama based on the rise and demise of a young rock band in the 1980s. Dupont's early work came in the early 2000s with small roles in long-running TV shows like "Julie Lescaut" and "Un homme en colére," and he made his screen debut as an 18-year-old with a tiny role in Jean-Paul Salomé's big budget action film "Arséne Lupin" (2004). His breakout performance was in Pascal Arnold's provocative "One to Another" (2006), a drama of adolescent sexual awakenings in which budding sexuality (and homosexuality) was openly, nakedly explored. Dupont then acted for French cinema legend Eric Rohmer in "The Romance of Astrea and Celadon" (2007). This lead to a starring turn in Frédéric Berthe's coming-of-age comedy, "Our 18 Years" (2008), and key roles in the romantic comedy "R.T.T." (2009) and Nicolas Steil's World War II drama ,"Réfractaire" (2009), a tale of Nazi resistance in Luxembourg in 1944. In "Bus Palladium," Dupont played the role of a budding band's mentally unstable singer, channelling Jim Morrison in his stoned poetry and suicidal urges. Dupont officially graduated to leading man status with the unnerving horror thriller "In My Sleep," the internationally-successful debut feature by siblings Caroline and Éric du Potet.
