Academy Award-winner Buffy Sainte-Marie led an extraordinary career writing music for various big screen productions. Sainte-Marie began her entertainment career with her music featured in films like the Bruce Davison drama "The Strawberry Statement" (1970) and the biographical drama "Heart Beat" (1979) with Nick Nolte. She followed this honor with songs in "Windy City" (1984). Sainte-Marie won a Golden Globe Award for "An Officer and A Gentleman" in 1982. In the eighties and the nineties, Sainte-Marie devoted her time to various credits, such as "Legacy in Limbo" (PBS, 1986-87), "Streets of Gold" (1986) and "Diamond's Edge" (1990). Sainte-Marie's music was also featured in "This Year's Love" (1999) with Kathy Burke, "Moulin Rouge" (2001) with Nicole Kidman and the comedy adaptation "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" (2003) with Hilary Duff. Her music was also featured in the Dennis Quaid comedic adaptation "Yours, Mine & Ours" (2005). Most recently, Sainte-Marie appeared on the Wavy Gravy documentary "Saint Misbehavin': The Wavy Gravy Movie" (2010).
