Meanwhile, Diane decides to take precautions when a felon she successfully prosecuted is about to be released from prison.

Sherlock tries to catch Martin Ennis, an erratic criminal, before he strikes again; Sherlock works with an FBI profiler who wrote a book on Ennis; Watson may be evicted from her apartment.

Detective Carter and Mr. Reese go to Texas to look into Root's past. Root shows to Finch that the people who bought his Machine are evil. Mr. Reese finally finds Finch.
