Desus Nice

Born in The Bronx as Daniel Baker, Desus Nice rose to become a cult celebrity through social media and the successful, irreverent podcast and web series "Desus vs. Mero" (Complex TV, 2013-2014). He graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent with a degree in literature and, after several jobs, became a columnist for the financial magazine Black Enterprise. Dissatisfied with his job, he began using Twitter to express his frustrations through sly, sarcastic jokes about his life, topical news and pop culture. During this time, Desus got back in touch with a friend he had met years before in summer school, The Kid Mero, who was building his own Twitter following. The pair launched "Desus vs. Mero" as an extension of their Twitter feeds that showcased their comedic chops and brought them even more success. He became recognized for his unabashedly crude humor that offered sharp criticisms without venturing into outright cynicism or bullying. Desus appeared with Mero on several MTV shows, including "Guy Code" (MTV2, 2011-), "Joking Off" (MTV2, 2015-) and "Uncommon Sense With Charlamagne'' (MTV2, 2015-), before debuting a new podcast called "Bodega Boys" (2015-). The pair also hosted the television series "Desus & Mero" (Viceland, 2016-).
