Freddie Stroma

Freddie Stroma was a British actor who was best known for playing the character Adam Cromwell on the dramedy series "UnREAL" (Lifetime, 2015-). Despite having a German mother and Swedish father, Stroma was born and raised in England. He grew up about 25 miles outside of London in a small town called Ascot. Stroma was first hit with the acting bug as a young teenager, and at the age of 16 was accepted into England's highly-competitive National Youth Theatre. It was there that he learned to hone his acting craft while performing in front of a live audience. After ending his training at the National Youth Theatre, Stroma took the unlikely path of entering University College London to study neuroscience. While attending the college Stroma continued auditioning for film and TV roles, and also added professional modeling to his slate of work to help pay for school. Before long he was landing small parts on TV shows like "Casualty" (BBC, 1986-), as well as films such as "Lady Godiva" (2008). Then in 2009 Stroma nabbed his first breakout role as Cormac McLaggen in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" (2009). He would go on to reprise his role a McLaggen in the final two Harry Potter films: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" (2010) and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" (2011). Over the next few years, Stroma continued scoring roles in high-profile films such as "Pitch Perfect" (2012), "The Inbetweeners 2" (2014), and "13 Hours" (2016). In 2015 he joined the cast of "UnREAL" as Adam Cromwell. His role on show marked a huge milestone for the British-born Stroma, as it was the first time he was cast as a series regular on an American television series.
